At Shield AI, we are dedicated to protecting service members and civilians through the development of intelligent systems. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Test and Rapid Prototype Engineer to join our Hardware Test Engineering team and help ensure the high reliability of our V-BAT aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Lead the requirements gathering, design, and validation process for test stands used for V-BAT components and subsystems.
- Develop expertise across various electrical engineering disciplines by creating test systems for power electronics, RF, and communication hardware.
- Create custom PCBs of varying complexity to serve as interfaces between test stands and the hardware under test.
- Build comprehensive test fixtures and stands, incorporating elements like PLCs, relays, wiring harnesses, and mechanical components.
- Write automated test sequences using Python to streamline our validation processes.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and champion design improvements that simplify our testing workflows.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- A strong command of core engineering principles, spanning physics, mathematics, programming, and both electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience with multidisciplinary hardware projects, whether gained through professional roles, internships, or personal initiatives.
- A track record of taking full ownership of projects and consistently delivering high-quality results.
- A collaborative spirit, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards while working with others.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
- Practical experience with PCB schematic and layout software, such as Altium.
- Experience using CAD tools like Solidworks for design tasks.
- The ability to remain agile and innovative when facing pressure or shifting project requirements.
