At InfluxData, we are the team behind InfluxDB, the leading platform designed to help developers collect, store, and analyze time series data at any scale. Whether it is tracking energy grids, monitoring complex software infrastructure, or managing industrial IoT sensors, our technology gives engineers the power to turn raw data into real-time insights. We are a remote-first company with a global reach, and we are looking for someone who shares our curiosity for how the world works to join our EMEA team.
The opportunity
We are searching for an Associate Sales Engineer to join us in the United Kingdom. This is an early-career role designed for someone who loves to code and wants to bridge the gap between complex engineering and customer success. You do not need to have held a sales engineering role before. We are committed to teaching you the craft, provided you bring the technical aptitude and a genuine desire to help our customers succeed. You will work remotely, collaborating closely with senior team members to build solutions and support our growing community.
A day in the life
- Develop deep, hands-on expertise with the InfluxData platform, including our APIs, client libraries, and integrations with essential tools like Grafana, Telegraf, and various industrial protocols.
- Partner with senior Sales Engineers to create impactful demos, proof-of-concept environments, and custom scripts that help prospects visualize the value of our technology.
- Act as a technical advocate by answering product questions, contributing to technical documentation or blog posts, and relaying customer feedback to our internal product and engineering teams.
Who you are
You are a motivated individual with a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. You have a strong foundation in technology and are ready to apply your skills in a customer-facing environment. Your profile includes:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or Java, with a portfolio of projects or coursework to show for it.
- Familiarity with Linux fundamentals and the command line.
- Experience working with data, whether through SQL, NoSQL, or scripting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- A natural curiosity and a bias for figuring things out when faced with new challenges.
Why you'll love it here
Working at InfluxData means joining a team that values humility, open-source collaboration, and getting things done. Because we are a remote-first organization, we offer the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to balance your professional responsibilities from the comfort of your home in the UK. You will receive structured mentorship from experienced professionals, providing you with a clear path for growth into roles like senior pre-sales, solutions architecture, or product engineering.
