What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior ClickHouse Operations Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a high-impact role where you will take ownership of the core infrastructure that powers our entire platform. We need an expert who is ready to manage, scale, and optimize our ClickHouse clusters as we move toward processing trillions of events per year.
What will you do?
- Build and maintain robust systems for the provisioning and scaling of our massive ClickHouse clusters, which currently handle over 100 petabytes of data.
- Optimize performance at the node and instance level while experimenting with the latest cloud hardware to ensure we have the most efficient setup for our workloads.
- Develop automation tools using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes, and contribute to the development of our internal query optimizer.
What makes you a great fit?
You are an expert who has moved beyond high-level usage to understand the internals of ClickHouse or other OLAP databases. You should be comfortable working in a high-scale environment where complexity is the norm. To succeed here, you should have experience with the following:
- Deep technical proficiency with OLAP database internals.
- Strong background in automating dynamic infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with Python, AWS, and ZooKeeper.
- A track record of managing and scaling complex data storage solutions.
