Data & AI Engineer at Incentivio

Incentivio is an intelligent guest engagement platform designed to help multi-unit restaurant brands accelerate their growth. Our unified system integrates online ordering, loyalty programs, marketing automation, and advanced analytics into a single interface. By leveraging AI to personalize guest interactions and predict churn, we empower restaurants to transform one-time visitors into loyal regulars while retaining full control over their brand and customer data. We are currently looking for a Senior Data & AI Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity.

Key outcomes

• Design and implement scalable data, backend, and AI solutions on AWS that prioritize security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Develop robust Java and Spring Boot services and APIs while managing integrations across MySQL, MongoDB, and various third-party platforms.
• Construct and maintain reliable data pipelines to process complex information from transactions, ordering, loyalty, and payment systems.
• Modernize our data platform by utilizing AWS services such as S3, EMR, Spark, Glue, and Athena.
• Develop generative AI and RAG applications using tools like Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch.
• Create high-quality, reusable datasets to support customer intelligence and predictive machine learning models, including churn prediction and guest segmentation.
• Maintain high engineering standards through CI/CD practices, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and thorough documentation.
• Ensure the integrity, privacy, and governance of all guest data through consistent monitoring and tenant isolation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software or data engineering, with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and database optimization for both MySQL and MongoDB.
• Practical experience using Python for AI workflows, data processing, and automation tasks.
• Proven ability to build and manage data pipelines, including handling schema evolution, failure recovery, and incremental processing.
• Hands-on experience with distributed processing technologies like Spark, Glue, or EMR.
• Experience developing AI and machine learning applications, specifically with generative AI, embeddings, RAG, and model evaluation using platforms like Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker.
• A solid understanding of AWS infrastructure, containerization, security, and production monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to apply sound engineering judgment to complex troubleshooting scenarios.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with OpenSearch or streaming and CDC technologies.
• Familiarity with advanced data lake architectures.
• Background in predictive ML or recommendation systems.
• Prior experience within the restaurant technology sector, including familiarity with POS, loyalty, or payment integrations.
