We are Shield AI, and our mission is to save lives by developing intelligent systems for service members and civilians. Our Hardware Test Engineering team is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Test & Rapid Prototype Engineer II to work on-site in the United States to help us build the most reliable aerospace hardware in the industry, specifically for our V-BAT vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the requirements gathering, design, and validation process for various test stands used to evaluate V-BAT components and subsystems.
- Develop expertise across multiple electrical engineering disciplines by creating test systems for RF, communications, and power electronics.
- Create simple to moderately complex PCBs that serve as the interface between your test stands and the devices under test.
- Build test fixtures and stands that incorporate components like PLCs, relays, harnessing, and various mechanical and electrical hardware.
- Write automated test sequences using Python to streamline our evaluation processes.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and champion design changes that simplify our testing workflows.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- A strong command of core engineering principles, including physics, mathematics, programming, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Proven experience with multidisciplinary hardware development, whether through professional roles, internships, or personal projects.
- A track record of taking full ownership of projects and delivering high-quality results.
- A collaborative mindset, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards while being a kind teammate.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience with PCB schematic and layout software, such as Altium, KiCAD, or Eagle.
- Familiarity with CAD tools like SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
- The ability to remain agile and innovative when working under pressure to meet changing project requirements.
