Senior Software Engineer ll Multi Cell at dbt Labs

At dbt Labs, we have spent the last year developing a next-generation multi-cell architecture, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to join our team. We serve some of the most data-driven organizations in the world, and our work directly impacts the productivity and success of analysts and data engineers everywhere. What you bring

In this full-time, remote role, you will focus on scaling our infrastructure and enhancing the capabilities of our multi-cell architecture. You will be a key contributor to our SaaS and cloud software initiatives, working from anywhere in the world. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and building cell-based application architecture to ensure our platform remains performant and reliable for customers globally.
• Collaborating closely with product management, security, and customer support teams to drive automation and scaling initiatives.
• Developing features across our service layer, including self-service account management and secure cell migrations using tools like Golang, Python, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Postgres.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with at least seven years of experience in software engineering, specifically with production-level SaaS applications. You should hold a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or have completed an engineering-focused bootcamp. The ideal candidate is a systematic problem solver who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where we prioritize rapid iteration and high programming standards. You should have a strong interest in distributed systems and be comfortable writing unit, functional, and integration tests. We value clear communication, especially in writing, and look for individuals who take ownership of their work and are eager to contribute to our mission within the data ecosystem.

What we offer
