What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a remote position for candidates based in the United States. In this role, you will be a key member of our platform team, focusing on the infrastructure, monitoring systems, and CI/CD pipelines that power our Underwriting Productivity Suite. You will help us balance the need for rapid delivery with the long-term goal of scaling our serverless web applications effectively.

What will you do?

• Design and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform to support our multi-tenant deployments across the United States, Europe, and Australia.
• Maintain and optimize our cloud environments on AWS and GCP, ensuring high performance and reliability for our serverless architecture.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and the wider engineering team to contribute to our roadmap, provide technical feedback, and suggest innovative improvements to our systems.

• Strong experience with serverless technologies, specifically Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and Aurora Serverless, as well as GCP services like BigQuery and Vertex AI.
• Extensive knowledge of the AWS ecosystem, including RDS Aurora Postgres, API Gateway, and networking fundamentals like VPC configuration.
• Proven ability to build and maintain multi-region deployments using Terraform.
• Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, specifically Python.
• A creative mindset and the ability to determine the appropriate level of complexity for our systems as we grow.
