Key outcomes

• Own product surfaces end to end. You will take full responsibility for key parts of the vidIQ platform, setting the direction and deciding on future improvements for our millions of daily active users.
• Work across the stack. You will build and modify backend APIs, services, and data flows as needed to support your features.
• Drive your own roadmap. You will identify opportunities based on user feedback and data, turning them into actionable proposals and delivering them independently.
• Modernize the frontend. You will lead efforts to refactor key features from JavaScript to TypeScript, focusing on performance and maintainability.
• Build AI-powered experiences. You will ship features driven by large language models, managing everything from model integration and prompt engineering to streaming responses and user interface design.
• Ensure system durability. You will own your code in production, implementing monitoring and error reporting to ensure a high-quality experience.
• Foster an AI-native culture. You will use and advocate for AI coding assistants, helping the team set best practices for responsible and efficient development.
• Mentor and review. You will provide thoughtful feedback on code to help your colleagues grow and maintain our high engineering standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong frontend expertise with a comfortable grasp of backend development, including API design, server-side code, and database interaction.
• Self-driven mindset with the ability to make decisions and move projects forward without needing detailed specifications.
• An ownership mentality, where you proactively identify and fix issues before they are flagged by others.
• Proven experience leading projects from concept to completion, including documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vite, and Tailwind.
• Deep experience using AI tools for planning, building, debugging, and testing, with a critical eye for reviewing AI-generated output.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Backend experience with Node.js, Python, or Scala, alongside knowledge of relational databases, caching, and queues.
• Familiarity with Redux, Redux Saga, or Zustand.
• Experience building features powered by LLMs, such as streaming UIs, model APIs, or prompt design.
• Experience with agentic coding workflows, such as running AI agents on complex tasks or using MCP servers.
