What you bring
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. You will work within our Hopper Technology Solutions group to build a world-class travel booking portal specifically for APAC users. Our tech stack relies on Scala for backend systems and GCP services, while our frontends utilize React and TypeScript. You will be responsible for the following:
- Designing, building, and operating robust API and full-stack solutions.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to ensure high alignment.
- Exploring and implementing engineering improvements to enhance both our team processes and our product performance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. You should possess strong product thinking, ensuring that your definition of quality is always anchored in the customer experience. We value engineers who can fearlessly navigate unknown codebases while maintaining a focus on delivering results quickly. You should have experience with distributed system development in Scala, or at least a strong willingness to learn. Proficiency in English is required for this role, as you will be working within a team that emphasizes asynchronous decision-making and clear, open communication.
