Hopper is looking for a Backend Software Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Hopper Technology Solutions group. You will play a key role in building a world-class travel booking portal designed specifically for our APAC users, working alongside a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers to scale our business and deliver high-impact features.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate robust API and full-stack solutions.
- Work autonomously while maintaining close alignment with your team through asynchronous decision-making and minimal meetings.
- Collaborate across functions with internal Hopper teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration.
- Proactively identify and implement engineering improvements for both our products and internal processes.
Must-haves
- A fearless approach to diving into unfamiliar codebases with a focus on delivering results.
- Strong product intuition, ensuring that your definition of quality is always anchored in the customer experience.
- Experience with or a strong willingness to master distributed system development using Scala.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with GCP services.
- Familiarity with frontend development using React and TypeScript.
