JumpCloud helps IT teams and Managed Service Providers centralize identity and device management, empowering small and medium-sized enterprises to adopt Zero Trust security models. With over 200,000 organizations using our platform and more than $400M in funding from investors like Atlassian and CrowdStrike, we are looking for a senior Escalations Engineer to join our remote-first engineering team and help us solve complex challenges in cloud-based architecture.
Responsibilities
- Perform deep-dive troubleshooting for internal and external customer issues.
- Develop and test internal SaaS applications that provide critical data to our sales, finance, and support teams.
- Act as an Incident Manager to facilitate rapid issue resolution.
- Provide engineering support across product teams and collaborate with internal stakeholders to solve support inquiries.
- Monitor alerts and on-call channels, stepping into active discussions to expedite solutions.
- Bridge the gap between customer support and product development, with the authority to fix and push code directly.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of experience with SQL and complex schemas, alongside NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Proficiency in debugging JavaScript, Python, or Go.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using BASH, PowerShell, or Python.
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management concepts, including SSO, MFA, and directory services.
- Experience with logging solutions such as Datadog or ELK.
- Fluency in English for both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to participate in on-call shifts to ensure system reliability.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience administering Linux, Mac, and Windows devices.
- Familiarity with device management tools like Microsoft Active Directory or Apple MDM.
- Working knowledge of APIs, SDKs, Radius, and LDAP.
