The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to join our dedicated Platform Engineering organization. In this role, you will become a key member of a team responsible for managing our service-to-service network traffic and the external gateways where our customers interact with our services. You will be at the heart of our infrastructure, solving complex technical challenges and building the foundational components that support our internal engineering teams and our customers alike.
A day in the life
- Define and implement sophisticated routing, load balancing, and communication strategies within our distributed, containerized microservices environment.
- Apply industry best practices to facilitate canary rollouts, client-based routing, and fine-grained security controls to ensure our applications scale effectively.
- Design highly available systems and evolve our core platform components while collaborating closely with other cloud and engineering teams across the company.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer who is passionate about tackling complex problems and thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment. You communicate fluently in English and are ready to contribute to a global team. Your background includes:
- At least 3 years of professional programming experience, specifically with Golang, Python, or NodeJS.
- Proven experience deploying applications in public cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure using CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio and experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- A strong understanding of distributed systems, traffic engineering principles, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Experience with container orchestration, particularly Kubernetes, is highly valued.
