Are you ready to help our clients build digital capabilities that truly move the needle? At YLD, we are a software engineering and design consultancy focused on empowering organizations to outperform their competition. We believe our success is a direct reflection of our clients' success, and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team in London, Lisbon, or Porto to help us continue delivering lasting impact.
What you bring
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer working in a full-time capacity, you will join our client-facing teams to build innovative products and resilient architectures. You will be expected to bring a curious, driven mindset to our fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure using TypeScript and Pulumi.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate Infrastructure as Code practices into their daily development workflows.
- Automating deployment processes and architecting efficient CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable software delivery.
This role is available to candidates located anywhere, as we operate with a remote-first approach.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled consultant who values a test-first mindset and enjoys the collaborative nature of pair programming. You should have strong commercial experience with TypeScript and a solid grasp of cloud computing services. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is essential, as is experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You should be comfortable working with managed function architectures like AWS Lambda or Azure Functions and have a deep understanding of CI/CD automation, specifically with GitHub Actions. Beyond technical expertise, we value candidates who are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of explaining complex technical concepts in business-friendly language. Strong English communication skills are required, and you should be a firm believer in diversity and fairness.
What we offer
We provide a forward-thinking, ethical, and collaborative environment where we prioritize your growth and well-being. Our benefits package includes:
- Remote work flexibility and a company laptop.
- 25 days of annual holiday, excluding public holidays.
- Company private healthcare and mental health support through the Spill app.
- Enhanced, fully paid maternity and paternity leave for up to 6 months.
- An annual allowance of €2000 for training and conferences, plus €300 for additional hardware.
- Access to meditation and sleep support via Headspace or Calm.
- Performance-based bonuses and generous referral schemes.
How to Apply
If you are passionate about solving complex problems and want to grow alongside a team that values honesty, ethics, and winning together, we would love to hear from you. Our recruitment process begins with an initial conversation with our talent team, followed by a brief take-home challenge and a technical interview with our senior developers. Please reach out to start your journey with us.
