We are looking for a Sr. Estimation Manager, HV/BESS to join our team on a full-time basis. Hanwha Q CELLS USA Corp develops, invests in, and delivers solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems through comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction services across North America. With a decade of global leadership in solar technology, we provide utility-scale power generation plants that are customized for regional energy markets. As a member of our team, you will help us minimize risk and uncertainty while ensuring our customers achieve the best possible return on their renewable energy investments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of estimators while coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure project deadlines and requirements are consistently met.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for utility-scale solar projects, specifically focusing on high voltage substations and battery energy storage systems by analyzing drawings, specifications, and subcontractor bids.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the estimation process, including the creation of cost models and the use of specialized software to improve accuracy and project profitability.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or a relevant certificate from a technical school, or at least 6 years of equivalent professional experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in estimating and project management, with a minimum of 3 years specifically within utility-scale solar, high voltage, and battery storage projects.
- A strong background in commercial construction, electrical equipment supply, or power plant engineering.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, such as HCSS HeavyBid, alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Procore.
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a self-motivated approach to managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
