About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex software systems while acting as a trusted advisor to our clients. You will work across the full development lifecycle, leveraging your expertise in mobile development and modern web technologies to build scalable, accessible, and secure applications. This is a remote position that requires a high level of technical proficiency and the ability to lead with empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical outputs while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Maintain high standards for code quality by conducting thorough peer reviews, particularly for React Native and GitHub Actions, and ensuring all front-end changes meet strict accessibility compliance.
• Strengthen our engineering practice by mentoring teammates, contributing to technical sprint planning, and identifying opportunities to integrate AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong foundation in software architecture and a passion for continuous improvement. Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

• At least 6 years of professional engineering experience with a proven track record of owning complex technical work and delivering high-quality software independently.
• Technical proficiency in React Native, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, AWS, Bash, GitHub Actions, and test automation.
• Prior experience working with the federal government, with a preference for candidates who have worked with the VA.
• Deep understanding of mobile application development for both iOS and Android, including release processes and accessibility standards.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build lasting relationships with client stakeholders.
