Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cost estimation oversight for projects across the United States.
- Support our Sales and Development teams by performing engineering design and detailed estimating tasks.
- Evaluate potential project sites, review environmental reports, and identify necessary mitigation strategies to ensure feasibility.
- Offer recommendations to reduce both technical and business risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed scopes of work for subcontractors and collaborate with our procurement team to verify costs.
- Confirm equipment specifications and manage bills of materials for balance of system requirements.
- Perform safety risk assessments and calculate associated costs.
- Conduct site visits as needed to support project accuracy.
- Assist with research and development by analyzing new technologies and obtaining cost estimates for emerging equipment.
- Distribute estimating tasks and review final cost projections for accuracy.
- Contribute to sales proposals and client bid documentation.
Must-haves
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, finance, economics, or status as a licensed contractor.
- At least 6 years of direct experience in utility-scale solar estimating.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and professional estimating platforms.
- Expertise in civil, mechanical, and electrical construction estimation, with a specific focus on DC and MV cabling, single-access PV racking, and high-voltage interconnections.
- Strong knowledge of electrical calculations, including wire sizing, wire loss, equipment ratings, and over-current protection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to senior management.
- A strategic, data-driven mindset and a proven track record of delivering results under pressure.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
- Fluency in English.

- Prior experience with specialized estimation software such as Heavy Bid, AccuBid, or Inteli Bid.
