The role
We are hiring a Manager, Software Development to lead engineering teams on a full-time, remote basis from anywhere in India. This senior-level position reports to the Director of Software Development and centers on guiding the delivery of production-grade software while coaching and growing the engineers on your teams.
Core responsibilities
- Own the delivery of production-level software by working closely with Product Owners, QA, and engineering leadership to keep projects on track and aligned with business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while reporting on team performance and project progress.
- Champion best-practice engineering methodologies, provide technical guidance, and support organizational objectives by setting clear goals and strategies for both teams and individuals.
Skills and experience
We are looking for candidates with nine or more years of professional experience who bring excellent problem-solving, programming, and communication skills. You should have a strong object-oriented mindset, a defensive coding approach informed by OWASP principles, and a genuine passion for both quality assurance and DevOps practices such as continuous integration and deployment.
Hands-on experience is required with SQL, JSON, REST, .NET, C#, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, relational database design and concepts, Agile methodologies, team building, infrastructure automation, build automation, Microsoft Azure, and both event-driven and service-oriented architectures. Experience with Vue.js, Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Azure WebJobs, App Services, Service Bus, and Storage Queues is considered a plus.
You should be comfortable owning features of any size from initial design through implementation, leading service-level and cross-service system design, and mentoring engineers through a hands-on coding approach. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to collaborate quickly with others is essential. Proficiency in English is required.
