At Range Energy, we are working to accelerate the electrification of the heavy-duty trucking industry through our innovative powered trailers. Founded in 2021 by veterans from companies like Tesla and Zoox, we are a team of creators dedicated to making towing safer, cleaner, and more efficient. We are currently looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our on-site team in the United States and help us simplify complex engineering challenges as we scale our technology.

What you'll be doing

You will collaborate with your teammates to bring up ECUs on our prototype vehicles.
You will develop safety-critical firmware for our ECUs and establish rigorous test procedures for system and software validation.
You will port and integrate third-party software stacks and modules into our existing ECU architecture.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 6 years of industry experience and a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:

High proficiency in embedded C/C++ with a focus on writing high-reliability code for real-time applications.
Strong experience with embedded communication protocols including I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
The ability to debug on target hardware using tools like JTAG and an aptitude for optimizing code for systems with limited memory and processing power.
Fluency in English and a solid understanding of firmware update processes and bootup sequences.
Experience using Git for version control and documentation.

What you'll get

The annual salary range for this position is $140,000 to $220,000, with total compensation determined by your specific experience and domain knowledge. In addition to your salary, you will receive:
