About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a full-time, on-site basis. In this position you will create the mechanical and electrical designs that move our powered-trailer systems from concept through prototype and into production, working side-by-side with a multidisciplinary engineering group.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD layouts and drawings that satisfy system requirements and can be manufactured by both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Partner with fellow engineers to clarify design intent, participate in design reviews, and refine solutions that improve performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Organize design data in PLM software, generate supporting documentation such as assembly instructions and test reports, and verify designs through simulation and physical testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Three to five years of relevant industry experience with a demonstrated record of owning a complete mechanical system from initial concept to final release.
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 or V6 and finite-element analysis tools, plus the ability to create and interpret basic electrical circuit and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail in 2D and 3D layouts, combined with clear verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfort working on-site in a dynamic build environment, including hands-on prototype work and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Location
This role is based in the United States and requires regular on-site presence at our facility.
Compensation and Benefits
For candidates located in Mountain View, CA the salary range is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Total compensation also includes equity and a generous benefits package, with the final offer determined by domain knowledge, experience, and location.
