At Linera, we are working to bridge the gap between web2 and web3 by providing unprecedented horizontal scaling for decentralized applications. Our founder, Mathieu Baudet, is a former Meta and Novi engineer who holds a PhD in cryptographic protocols. We are pioneering the use of microchains, which are lightweight chains that operate in parallel across a shared validator set. This architecture allows our system to scale by adding more chains rather than increasing block sizes or production rates. As an early-stage company backed by leading investors, we are looking for a senior software engineer to help us redefine the blockchain trilemma.
Key outcomes
- Develop open-source software using Rust while contributing to the core design of our blockchain infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a highly skilled team across domains including distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, cryptography, and security.
- Take significant ownership of technical challenges as an early member of our organization.
- Help establish our foundational culture and engineering practices.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping high-quality software.
- Proficiency in Rust and a passion for writing clean, well-tested, and documented code.
- Deep familiarity with or a strong desire to master Web3 technologies.
- Comfort with open-ended technical problems and a drive for innovation.
- Experience working in small, agile teams where individual ownership is essential.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation
We offer a fully remote work environment that allows you to contribute from anywhere. We provide competitive compensation packages to our team members.
