Cape is a privacy-first mobile carrier dedicated to fixing the vulnerabilities of modern cellular infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Platform team and help us build secure, scalable systems from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable, extensible systems to support our growing feature set and user base.
- Take full ownership of foundational components, including identity services, billing, and provisioning, from initial design through deployment.
- Lead complex re-architectures and live system migrations while ensuring zero downtime.
- Collaborate across teams with Product, Mobile, and SRE to shape our technical infrastructure.
- Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, design documentation, and pair programming.
Must-haves
- Over 7 years of experience building and operating scalable backend systems.
- Proficiency in Go or similar modern programming languages.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, including experience with queues, async workflows, and production-grade schema migrations.
- Proven ability to lead significant end-to-end system migrations.
- Strong written communication skills to document designs and drive technical decisions.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Postgres and Redis for data infrastructure.
- Background in workflow orchestration and modern CI/CD tooling.
- Familiarity with data lake architectures and streaming materialized views.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $290,000 USD.
