Senior Software Engineer, Backend at Mashgin

The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend team on a full-time, hybrid basis within the United States. This is a role for an experienced engineer who wants to take full ownership of the product lifecycle. You will not be siloed into a single specialty. Instead, you will be involved in everything from initial design and prototyping to final execution and shipping. You will work on the software that powers our kiosks and the robust infrastructure that supports them, ensuring our systems remain reliable as we scale.

Core responsibilities

• Take full ownership of major feature development, collaborating directly with our founders to bring products from concept to completion.
• Partner with an interdisciplinary team of hardware, software, and design experts to build new product iterations from the ground up.
• Design new architectures and refine existing codebases to solve complex technical challenges and support our continued growth.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in computer science and a passion for building scalable systems. We expect the following qualifications:

• At least 8 years of relevant software engineering experience and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Python, Node.js, C++, Go, C#, or Java.
• A willingness to learn new tools and frameworks as needed to solve specific problems.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and SQL database technologies.
• A proven track record of shipping production-ready code used by a large user base.
