We are looking for a visionary Director of Product Design to join our remote team at Teachstone. Since 2008, we have been transforming the education landscape through our research-backed Classroom Assessment Scoring System, and we need an experienced leader to help us evolve the digital platforms that empower educators nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a high-performing design team by defining our hiring strategy and fostering a culture of creative excellence.
- Establish a clear design vision that balances user needs with our broader company objectives.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a scalable design system to ensure consistency across all our digital products.
- Direct the full product design lifecycle, from initial concept through to final launch.
- Partner closely with our Engineering, Product, Impact, and Marketing teams to improve user engagement and retention.
- Utilize user research and data insights to guide design decisions and improve product adoption.
- Mentor team members to support their professional growth while maintaining high standards for design quality.
Must-haves
- Over 10 years of professional experience in product design, specifically within SaaS or technology environments.
- A proven history of leading design teams, including experience with hiring and organizational development.
- A robust portfolio demonstrating successful end-to-end design work that has positively impacted user engagement.
- Deep knowledge of interaction design, user psychology, user-centered design, and user research methodologies.
- Expertise in managing and scaling design systems for consistency and efficiency.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate a design vision to various stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000, which is determined based on your unique skills, experience, and internal equity.
