Staff Software Engineer at EarnIn

At EarnIn, we’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team and play a central role in building products that deliver meaningful financial flexibility.

What you bring

We are seeking a senior-level engineer for a full-time hybrid role who will help evolve our web application, accelerate innovation across web and mobile platforms, and design a robust full-stack architecture. You will bring deep experience in Design and Software, along with a passion for creating seamless customer journeys in the fintech space. Three main responsibilities include driving the design and implementation of new features by breaking down complex problems into elegant solutions, collaborating with and mentoring other senior engineers through code and architecture reviews, and leading cross-team engineering initiatives while contributing to technical direction and roadmap planning. This position is available anywhere in the United States, with the option to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity at our Palo Alto headquarters.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience, along with at least seven years of backend or full-stack development experience. You should have extensive experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks like React or Angular, as well as proficiency in back-end development using Node.js, Python, and Java. Strong skills in GraphQL for efficient data retrieval, the ability to design system architecture, and experience with performance testing and systems integration are essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable serving as a core member of an agile team, driving user story analysis and application development, and delivering innovative solutions that move the business forward. You should also be able to develop prototypes and frameworks, plan and execute the deployment of scalable client-facing service interfaces, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning about new technologies and industry standards. What we offer

The salary range for this role is USD 183,700 - 358,400. We provide the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment that supports both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
