The opportunity
As a Staff Software Engineer you will shape the technical direction of products that help more people reach a secure retirement. Working fully remote on an agile, full-stack team, you will design scalable systems, guide architectural decisions, and turn complex financial processes into intuitive software that people actually enjoy using.
A day in the life
- Scope new projects and design system architecture that keeps our platform reliable as it grows.
- Build and refine full-stack features, from React interfaces to backend services in Ruby or Python, while integrating modern infrastructure on Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to automate routine tasks and create thoughtful solutions that directly improve the experience for our users.
Who you are
You bring at least six years of experience creating consumer-facing software and at least two years spent leading technical direction for other engineers. You are fluent in at least one backend language such as Ruby or Python, comfortable building with React, and skilled at designing scalable APIs and working with modern databases. You have hands-on experience running distributed systems with Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP, and you communicate clearly in English.
