The role
We are seeking a Head of Protocol Engineering to join our team in a full-time, senior-level capacity. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for driving the overall management and prosperity of our protocol program, providing the strategic and technical leadership necessary to guide our teams as they build the future of decentralized infrastructure.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and manage our protocol teams, which currently consist of over 20 engineers, by fostering a culture of mentorship, hiring top talent, and establishing best-in-class development practices.
- Provide high-level technical guidance on architecture and methodologies while ensuring our quarterly goals and strategic planning align with our broader business objectives.
- Act as a primary communicator for stakeholders, managing expectations and timelines while building trusted relationships with our partners, clients, and the broader Web3 community.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a deep technical understanding of Web3 technologies and have a proven track record of leadership. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including a demonstrated history of effective team management.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience within the Web3 space, with a strong grasp of at least one major ecosystem like Ethereum or Polkadot.
- Intermediate proficiency in Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
- A servant-leader mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, collaborate across functions, and make strategic decisions independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a global, remote environment.
