The Farmer’s Dog is the fastest-growing pet health service in the United States. We are on a mission to transform the pet food industry by replacing processed pellets with fresh, personalized meals delivered directly to our customers. Having already delivered hundreds of millions of meals and secured over $150 million in funding, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this hybrid role, you will help us build a robust subscription e-commerce platform that supports our mission to provide honest, healthy care for pets everywhere.
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated mentorship and coaching to a team of four or more engineers to foster their professional growth and individual impact.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to refine development processes, remove roadblocks, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality features.
- Represent your team in cross-functional road-mapping discussions while participating in high-level system design and architecture planning using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of total professional software engineering experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in engineering management, specifically focused on talent development and organizational health.
- Proven ability to manage team performance through effective delegation, consistent one-on-one meetings, and clear, actionable feedback.
- Strong technical background in architecting systems for high scalability and availability.
- Familiarity with our core technology stack, including JavaScript, Docker, Terraform, and Postgres.
What we offer
