At Trust Automation, we have spent over 30 years building custom motors, linear drives, and digital systems that power the most demanding defense, medical, and industrial automation applications. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our on-site team in the United States to lead the design and development of complex motion control and power management solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for both our standard product line and custom client applications.
- Manage the full product life cycle, from initial requirement gathering and conceptual design to prototyping, testing, and manufacturing transition.
- Create schematics and manage PCB designs while ensuring all work meets project schedules and budget targets.
- Perform rigorous design verification through analysis and hands-on testing.
- Collaborate with our engineering team to improve motor and drive efficiencies.
- Participate in internal design reviews and assist leadership with project planning, risk mitigation, and task prioritization.
- Engage with customers to provide technical support and perform system demonstrations.
Must-haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in digital and analog circuit design, including power electronics.
- Hands-on expertise with electric motors, drive electronics, and power conversion circuits.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
- Experience working with microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems.
- Practical skills in both PCB-level and system-level troubleshooting.
- Experience with closed-loop control of motor torque, speed, and position.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, Modbus, CAN, and EtherCAT.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with control system development, such as PID loops.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB, SIMULINK, or PSpice.
Benefits
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $83,033.60 to $100,000.00.
