At O(1) Labs, we are the team behind the Mina Protocol, a unique Layer 1 blockchain that compresses data to the size of a few tweets to enable decentralization on mobile devices. We are looking for a Senior Ecosystem Exploration Engineer to join our remote, global team and help us push the boundaries of zero-knowledge applications as we continue to build a privacy-centered Web 3.0.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and drive innovative projects using o1js, Kimchi, and the Mina Protocol.
- Build prototypes for new zkApp concepts and test experimental zero-knowledge designs in real-world scenarios.
- Create frameworks that expand the utility and capabilities of o1js.
- Engage with the developer community by sharing your work at events and providing guidance to both new and experienced contributors.
- Identify and resolve developer challenges to improve the overall ecosystem experience.
- Communicate your findings and project updates through blog posts and social media to showcase our technical leadership.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple projects while maintaining strong communication with your colleagues and the community.
Must-haves
- A passion for working as a generalist on multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Strong communication skills to share technical insights and support the broader developer community.
- Fluency in English.
- A high level of comfort with engineering, blockchain technology, and cryptography.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience or a strong interest in functional programming.
- Background in programming language theory or formal program verification.
- Knowledge of compiler design.
- Expertise in low-level performance optimizations.
- Prior experience with OCaml or similar functional languages.
