We are Lightning AI, and we are on a mission to reshape how artificial intelligence is built. Since our inception following the release of PyTorch Lightning, we have focused on making machine learning development simpler, more modular, and highly sustainable for both academic and commercial users. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. You will play a vital role in scaling our platform, working across everything from our API and CLI to critical billing and security infrastructure. This is an on-site position where you will have the chance to own key features and help us transform the machine learning ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient code using Go or Python to drive platform performance and stability.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering leaders to define the technical architecture for large-scale projects while championing automation and software quality.
- Apply your expertise in system design to improve our infrastructure and mentor fellow engineers to foster a supportive and inclusive technical environment.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in backend engineering with a deep understanding of system design and modern software development practices.
- Proven proficiency in Go or Python.
- A strong commitment to quality, automation, and continuous delivery within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within our engineering team.
What we offer
