At Infinite Athlete, we are on a mission to build a comprehensive operating system for sports that drives innovation and improves the experience for fans, athletes, and the games themselves. Our goal is to establish a unified technological foundation that connects sports data from every source, creating a single platform where global leagues and teams can enhance everything from broadcast quality and athlete performance to coaching and operations. We are building the infrastructure that powers the future of sports technology.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Audio Video Platform team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will take ownership of our live and on-demand video processing pipelines. You will work with a hybrid infrastructure that spans both cloud and on-premise environments, utilizing high-performance hardware to transcode and serve massive amounts of video data. We are seeking someone who enjoys diving deep into system-level code and is ready to help shape the future of our video stack.
Core responsibilities
- Design and develop our next generation of video ingestion hardware and software, with the opportunity to optimize systems down to the driver level.
- Dedicate the majority of your time to writing high-quality code while balancing software architecture tasks and hands-on work with specialized AV hardware.
- Manage the end-to-end infrastructure of our video stack, including participating in on-call rotations and establishing best practices for deployment and operational excellence.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong technical background and a passion for distributed systems. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive coding experience in Rust or C++.
- Proficiency across multiple languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Golang, and Swift.
- Experience building robust web service APIs using technologies like REST, GraphQL, gRPC, or JSON:API.
- Strong communication skills, specifically regarding technical documentation, code reviews, and architectural design.
- A proven track record of architecting low-latency, high-availability systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with video compression standards, streaming formats like HLS or SRT, and DevOps practices using Docker and infrastructure as code is a major plus.
Compensation and benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our team members and their families, including:
- A 401(k) plan with up to 4% matching.
- Full coverage of monthly premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for you, plus 95% coverage for your dependents.
- A monthly health and wellness stipend of $200.
- A cell phone allowance of $75 per month.
- Flexible PTO to ensure you have time to recharge.
- The ability to work remotely from anywhere.
How to apply
If you are passionate about sports technology and eager to work on high-performance video infrastructure, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to be considered for our team. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment and provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
