What you bring

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary technology team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. In this senior role, you will be a key player in our hardware development efforts, utilizing your expertise in CAD, Solidworks, and engineering principles to push our technology forward. Your contributions will be vital to our mission, and you will be expected to handle the following core responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the detailed design and CAD modeling for a variety of our mechanical systems.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to define and establish clear design requirements.
• Lead and mentor other members of the engineering team, establishing best practices for product development and design for manufacturability.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possess over 15 years of industry experience. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of leading complex mechanical subsystems from the initial concept phase through to final delivery. You should be a master of 3D CAD software and have a deep understanding of GD&T standards. We value candidates who are comfortable performing FEA and hand calculations to validate their work. Because we operate in a fast-paced start-up environment, you must be a self-starter who excels at solving ambiguous problems with minimal oversight. Strong technical writing and communication skills are essential, as you will be working across various teams to ensure our designs are ready for production.
