We are thrilled that you are interested in joining CarbonCapture Inc., a company dedicated to the vital mission of decarbonizing our atmosphere. We develop and deploy advanced direct air capture machines that function in large arrays to remove significant amounts of carbon dioxide from the air. Our unique, patented modular architecture supports rapid technology iterations, mass production, and unlimited scalability. We are looking for a passionate Software Engineering Intern to join our Systems and Analysis team this summer, where you will help us build the software that powers our mission to mitigate global warming.
What you'll be doing
- You will develop and enhance our cloud-based data processing pipelines.
- You will design and build intuitive web-based user interfaces to support our data analysis efforts.
- You will model and analyze key system subprocesses while collaborating with our team of process engineers, materials scientists, and system analysts.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should be a student who is comfortable working on-site in the United States and fluent in English. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:
- Functional knowledge of Python, including familiarity with pandas and NumPy.
- Comfort working within a Linux command line environment.
- Practical experience with Git for version control.
- A strong capacity for self-learning new tools and platforms, along with the ability to grasp scientific concepts related to thermodynamics, mechanical engineering, and materials science.
- Excellent communication skills to help you thrive in a fluid, collaborative project environment.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Scientific Python proficiency and building data analysis tools for research.
- Front end development or the ability to learn frameworks like Dash.
- Working with Matplotlib, Plotly, SQL, or AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Athena.
- Collaborating on SCADA system architecture, Ignition HMI development, or PLC development.
