The opportunity

We are searching for a founding Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the United States. This is a high-impact role where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our banking product. You will not just be writing code, but actively contributing to the product strategy, internal tools, and the overall architecture of our system. Because we are a small team, your work will be visible and vital to our success, and you will have the chance to build a mobile banking app that you would genuinely want to use yourself.

A day in the life

• You will manage and maintain stable, reliable integrations with our essential partners, including our card issuer, identity verification services, and providers like Plaid.
• You will develop the core backend logic that drives our most exciting features, such as custom rewards programs and instant bank transfers, to help us grow our member base.
• You will design and implement scalable infrastructure capable of processing large volumes of data while maintaining low latency for our users.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer who thrives in the fast-paced environment of an early-stage startup. You have a deep understanding of what it takes to build systems from the ground up and scale them effectively. You possess the following qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience as a backend engineer, with a minimum of 2 years specifically using Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
• Proven experience working in a small startup environment where you helped take a product from the initial concept to a live, functioning system.
• A thoughtful approach to development that balances the need for speed with the necessity of rigorous testing, ensuring our product remains secure and reliable.
• A passion for consumer-facing products where design and intuitive architecture are prioritized at every level of the stack.
• Fluency in English.
