Research Intern at The Block

Joining The Block offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the leading research, analysis, and news brand within the digital asset sector. Since our founding in 2018 in New York City, we have established ourselves as the primary source of information for crypto natives, Fortune 500 professionals, and government leaders alike. Our team operates across seven time zones to provide 24/7 coverage of the global blockchain landscape. We are currently seeking a motivated Research Intern to join our 25-person research team and help us deliver the deep insights that institutions rely on to navigate the intersection of traditional finance and emerging technology.

Key outcomes

• Conduct thorough research on digital asset topics and synthesize your findings into professional presentations, documentation, or client briefings.
• Take ownership of data analysis and financial modeling required for investment diligence and custom research projects.
• Manage your own research deliverables to ensure all deadlines are met in coordination with our research team and clients.
• Prepare high-quality PowerPoint decks and written reports for strategic advisory and sector update initiatives.
• Identify new project opportunities and assist in drafting marketing materials to support our outbound sales efforts.
• Support the broader team with various tasks related to public appearances, knowledge sharing, and community engagement.

Requirements

• Current enrollment as at least a junior in college, pursuing a degree in finance, economics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
• Previous internship experience in sectors such as consulting, investment banking, technology, or cryptocurrency.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex data into logical frameworks.
• A solid understanding of the digital asset ecosystem, blockchain technology, and underlying frameworks.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, combined with high attention to detail.
• A genuine desire to build subject matter expertise and a willingness to explore new research topics.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $15 to $20 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on factors including your geographic location, experience, and specific expertise. We offer a remote work environment, allowing you to contribute to our global mission from anywhere in the United States.
