What you bring

We are a Forbes Fintech 50 company whose open APIs power innovative payment and financial services solutions. As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer working full time in a remote capacity, you will architect, develop, and maintain our payments API platform and cryptocurrency products. You will collaborate closely with product management and customer-facing teams to solve complex customer challenges while enjoying the autonomy to design scalable, innovative solutions across a wide range of technologies. Three main responsibilities include developing Stronghold’s Platform APIs using Go, .NET, Rust, Node.js, and Python to address payment problems for enterprise and underserved business customers, driving all phases of Platform projects from initial vision through final implementation, and designing new Platform functionality and corresponding APIs for external developers. This role is open to candidates located anywhere.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with at least six years of professional software development experience on a team who hold a BSc or MSc in Computer Science or possess equivalent practical experience. You should be proficient in Go, .NET, Rust, Node.js, or Python and have experience building frontend user interfaces or architecting large single-page applications with React. Strong API development skills, familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and AWS, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and tools including Docker, Terraform, Redis, and Postgres are essential. Knowledge of blockchain or distributed ledger technologies such as Ethereum, Ripple, Stellar, or Solana is highly valued, as is prior work in financial institutions involving payments systems like Visa, Mastercard, US ACH, wires, and cross-border transactions. The ideal candidate is an excellent generalist programmer who learns quickly, strives for simplicity, communicates effectively, advocates during technical discussions, and thrives in a collaborative, empathetic environment where autonomy and ownership are encouraged.
