Flight Software Engineer at Reliable

What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Flight Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. In this position, you will be instrumental in automating complex aircraft systems. You will work closely with our flight software teams to develop and certify our autonomy stack, playing a vital part in bringing our aircraft to life.

What will you do?

• Develop highly-deterministic C++ software within a bare metal environment, ensuring seamless integration with sensors, control systems, and other vehicle subsystems.
• Establish clear requirements and implement rigorous unit testing to ensure the robustness of our software.
• Engage directly with flight hardware in the lab and on the aircraft, helping to plan flight tests and seeing your code in action during actual flights.

• A B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or other relevant programming languages.
• Proven experience developing software for embedded or high-performance applications.
• A solid grasp of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
• Experience working with advanced C++ features in production environments.
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting and a background in safety-critical software development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
