Our technology is wire-compatible with MySQL and Postgres, allowing developers to build faster, more scalable applications without needing to modify their existing code or database architecture. We are currently seeking passionate engineers to join our fully remote team and help us explore the frontier of distributed systems and database research.
About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. In this role, you will focus on building the next generation of AI-native cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating systems that power data-intensive products and bring advanced AI capabilities into production environments. Our team moves quickly, and you will be instrumental in shipping ambitious systems that solve critical challenges in data freshness, memory management, and cost efficiency for enterprise-scale AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own critical services, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and easy to operate in a production environment.
- Lead high-impact architectural decisions that balance rapid development with the engineering rigor required for high availability.
- Collaborate across the stack, working on everything from distributed cloud infrastructure to AI-driven features like agent orchestration and retrieval pipelines.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Over 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably with a background in databases, data platforms, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven ability to design and maintain cloud services at scale.
- Practical experience with AI and ML systems, specifically regarding LLM integration, retrieval pipelines, or memory frameworks.
- Expertise in backend development using languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Rust.
- Deep familiarity with AWS infrastructure.
- Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to guide teams through complex architectural challenges.
Location
This position is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $190,000 to $240,000 USD per year. In addition to base pay, we provide the following benefits:
