The role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a senior-level position designed for an experienced professional who is ready to provide technical leadership across our engineering organization. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical strategy while remaining hands-on with the development of our most complex systems.

Core responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering input to help our teams deliver high-quality, impactful solutions.
• Lead architectural discussions for our most complex systems, ensuring we build robust and optimal solutions that align with our long-term goals.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to manage our roadmap, balancing the trade-offs between speed, cost, and completeness.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should bring a deep technical background and a collaborative spirit. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Over 6 years of professional software development experience, specifically within data processing environments using cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to build ETL workflows and data pipelines capable of processing large volumes of data in real-time.
• Experience working with NoSQL or search-based databases, such as MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
• Hands-on experience deploying pipelines on major cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks, automated testing strategies, and agile development methodologies.
• A track record of mentoring engineers and facilitating technical initiatives across cross-functional teams.
