The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team. This is a pivotal role where you will help design, build, and scale the core services that power our fintech platform. You will work within a culture that values autonomy and action, ensuring that you have the resources and support needed to make a significant impact. You will not just be writing code, but also contributing to the strategic direction of our product and helping to mentor the next generation of engineers on our team.

A day in the life

• You will lead the development and maintenance of robust microservices that form the backbone of our fintech applications.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including frontend developers and DevOps engineers, to deploy high-quality, secure software solutions.
• You will manage our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing tools like Terraform to ensure our systems remain scalable and performant.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with at least 8 years of professional experience, ideally within a fast-paced startup or financial services environment. You have a deep understanding of cloud-based architecture and a passion for building secure, reliable systems. To be successful in this role, you should bring the following skills and background:

• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js or Golang.
• Experience working with microservices, SQL and NoSQL databases, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• A history of leading technical projects and providing mentorship to junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• Fluency in English.
