The role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our platform engineering team in the UK. This is a full-time position based in the greater London area. You will play a vital role in ensuring our ticketing platform remains efficient, performant, and scalable. We operate in a hybrid model, requiring a minimum of two days per week in our office to foster collaboration, while offering flexibility for the remainder of your work week.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement robust integrations with supply-side ticketing systems.
• Develop and maintain our extensive suite of internal and external APIs.
• Enhance platform observability to ensure high performance and reliability, including participation in an on-call rotation to address technical issues.

Skills and experience

We are looking for a candidate who brings strong technical expertise and a collaborative spirit to our team. Key requirements include:

• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Proven experience working within a high-traffic e-commerce environment.
• A passion for observability, design patterns, and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Experience designing and building APIs with an understanding of performance profiling.
• Excellent communication skills and an excitement for working in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

While not required, it is a plus if you have experience with AWS, Terraform, GraphQL, Node.js, Python, or CI/CD pipelines.
