Your Role at MediaLab
The Global Regulatory Compliance Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring platforms in the MediaLab portfolio adhere to global legal standards and internal policies. This position involves overseeing the global regulatory landscape, understanding its implications for our brands, and implementing strategies to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of international laws and regulations related to digital media, privacy, and user generated content management.
What You'll Do
- Regulatory Monitoring: Keep abreast of global regulations affecting social media, including privacy laws, data protection, and content regulation.
- Policy Development: Develop and revise company policies to ensure compliance with international, federal, and state laws.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess regulatory risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Compliance Programs: Design and manage comprehensive compliance programs, including training and awareness initiatives for Legal, Trust & Safety, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with legal, policy, and operational teams to ensure cohesive compliance efforts.
- Audits and Investigations: Lead internal audits and investigations to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and policies.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to the extended leadership team on compliance matters and developments.
- Advocacy and Representation: Represent the company in discussions with regulatory bodies and at industry forums.
What We're Searching For
- At least 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, with a focus on social media or technology sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of global regulatory frameworks affecting social media, including GDPR, COPPA, and others.
- Strong ability to analyze legal documents and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex legal concepts.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a multinational corporation or with international compliance matters.
- Professional certifications related to compliance (e.g., CCEP, CRCM).
