At Bastion, we are building the critical infrastructure required for businesses to issue, move, and hold stablecoins. Our platform integrates custodial wallets, payment orchestration, and issuance into a single, compliant flow. We operate through our own regulated entities, embedding risk controls directly into the foundation of our technology. As a 40-person startup, we are looking for a dedicated engineer to help us scale our security program and protect the future of digital payments.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer to join our team as its second security hire. This is a full-time, remote position based in the US, though we have a preference for candidates in or willing to relocate to NYC. You will report directly to our CTO/CISO and collaborate closely with our Staff Security Engineer to advance our security posture.
Your impact
- Build and maintain reusable security middleware and libraries in Go that make it easy for our engineering teams to adopt secure defaults.
- Scale our detection engineering and cloud security programs by hardening our Kubernetes (EKS) environments and refining our AWS infrastructure.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements, such as SOC 2, OCC, and MiCA/DORA, into automated controls and evidence-based technical solutions.
What you'll need
We are looking for a builder who is comfortable writing production-grade code and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You should possess the following:
- Professional experience writing production code, specifically in Go.
- Deep technical knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Strong expertise in application security, detection engineering, and managing SIEM platforms.
- A proactive mindset toward security, with the ability to own initiatives from design to deployment.
- Fluency in English to collaborate effectively across our distributed team.
