About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to join our payroll integrations team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and consuming REST APIs to facilitate seamless communication between our systems and those of our partners. You will work within a collaborative, kanban-style development environment, focusing on writing clean, maintainable code while partnering with our product and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software that powers internal and external API integrations using Python.
- Collaborate with product and operations stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable, iterative development plans.
- Ensure the long-term health of our systems by writing low-complexity, well-tested code and providing production support during business hours.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have at least 2 years of professional experience as a software engineer. We are looking for someone who brings the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience building and consuming REST APIs using Python or other object-oriented languages.
- Practical experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- A strong working knowledge of Git for version control.
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- A willingness to work from one of our office locations twice a week.
While not required, experience with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, or frontend technologies like React is considered a strong plus.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in the United States, with office locations in New York, NY, Phoenix, AZ, and Austin, TX.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 to $140,000. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on your specific location. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
