We are Veza, the identity security company. Our mission is to help security and identity teams protect access across cloud infrastructure, data systems, and applications. By using our unique Authorization Graph, we help global enterprises like Blackstone and Expedia visualize permissions and remediate security risks. We are looking for a passionate leader to help us continue scaling our technology and our team.

What is this role?

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is an executive-level leadership position where you will define our technical roadmap and foster a culture of innovation. You will work alongside a talented group of builders who have previously contributed to the success of companies like Google, AWS, and Okta.

What will you do?

• Lead our engineering deliverables by creating execution plans, managing project timelines and resources, and ensuring our teams maintain high standards for quality and end-to-end ownership.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to align on requirements, prioritize features, and communicate our engineering achievements across the organization.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering team by establishing effective hiring processes, addressing team challenges, and driving productivity through consistent feedback.

What makes you a great fit?

You are a seasoned leader with at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, including 4 or more years in a leadership role. You have a strong background in building enterprise SaaS products that handle large data streams. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has successfully scaled teams from under 20 to over 40 members. Your technical toolkit should include deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes, along with a solid grasp of Agile methodologies and Jira for project management. You should be a detail-oriented communicator who balances technical depth with a low-ego, collaborative approach.
