The role
We are seeking a Director of Product Design to lead our AI Builder initiatives. This is a full-time, remote leadership position requiring at least 48 months of experience in a director-level capacity. You will serve as the primary owner of the Registry experience, overseeing the UX, vision, and quality standards for the engine that powers our business. Reporting to the VP of Product Design and Research, you will lead a team of 3 to 4 product designers and sit on the Consumer Tech Leadership team.
Core responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end Registry experience, ensuring high-quality design across our entire cross-platform ecosystem while driving key performance indicators.
- Lead your team by balancing long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution, utilizing AI-native workflows to prototype and ship impactful features.
- Foster a high-performing culture by hiring and developing top design talent, while partnering closely with engineering and product management to transition our organization to AI-native product development.
Skills and experience
- Proven expertise in Product Design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating shipped consumer products across both web and native mobile platforms.
- Deep proficiency in AI tools and a passion for integrating AI-native workflows into the design process to increase speed and innovation.
- Strong leadership and strategy skills, with the ability to synthesize user research and business data into clear, actionable product visions.
- Experience with design systems, prototyping, and user research, combined with the ability to communicate complex design rationales clearly to cross-functional partners.
- A systems-thinking mindset, allowing you to understand how individual interactions fit into the broader Babylist ecosystem.
