About Stellic
Stellic is on a mission to empower students to get the most value out of their college journey and prepare them for success in their careers. Many believe that degree progression is straight-forward, but for most students, it’s a meandering and arduous process. As a result, graduation rates suffer - with less than 44% of students graduating within 6 years.
Our unified degree progression platform finally solves one of the biggest pain points for college students and advisors: helping students plan their degrees, choose the right courses, and manage their academic journey in a way that allows them to achieve the best-possible experiences and outcomes.
Founded by first-gen students at Carnegie Mellon in 2017, Stellic has grown into ‘the most valuable platform on campus’ that not only supports students and advisors, but also allows campus leadership to increase their operational efficiency by 10x and automate resource allocation based on student needs/demands. Serving all segments of higher ed — from top R1 institutions (Columbia, UChicago, Duke) to large publics (Oklahoma, Ohio State, George Mason) to small colleges (Colorado College, Sweet Briar) — we’re now looking to expand our team to carry on the mission.
About the Role
With a category-defining product and partner success team, we are effectively fixing the biggest higher ed challenges today. We are looking for a marketing leader who can build the foundation of a high performing marketing org and scale it to support ambitious future goals of Stellic.
This is an opportunity for a driven marketing leader to lead and scale a customer-centric marketing arm at a high-growth, series A startup in enterprise SaaS. You will work directly with the executive team to lead marketing initiatives for the company.
In this leadership role, you'll:
- Lead the foundation of a marketing function: Partner with the founders to build a repeatable, reliable marketing arm and team across all areas of marketing - product, customer, growth, and brand marketing (with emphasis on product and customer marketing).
- Make an impact: Partner with the founders and other team members to solve new challenges and deepen the impact and excitement we have among students and administrators.
- Drive Stellic’s growth strategy: Increase the efficiency and output of our growth engine and evolve our GTM strategy to provide mission-aligned opportunities to our Enterprise Sales team via both direct and indirect channels (thought leadership, events, outbound emails, webinars, digital, etc.).
- Wear many hats to support different teams: Collaborate with other teams (including Customer Success, Product) to play the role of marketing in their areas (new module launch, supporting onboarding customers, product videos, etc.).
- Enable the Sales Team: Provide a library of relevant, targeted assets at each phase of the buyer journey (decks, case studies, evaluation materials, etc.).
- Develop the Stellic brand identity: Leverage our deep relationships across thought leaders to build a brand identity that captures Stellic's vision, personality, and voice We’re building a company that’s loved by students and valued by administrators’.
- Build stage-fit marketing processes: Use the right mix of tools, systems, dashboards, and processes to bring effectiveness and efficiency in the marketing process.
You'd be a great fit for this role if:
- You're a creative, generalist marketer with strong interest in product, customer, and growth marketing.
- You've built (or co-built) a marketing function at a high growth, early stage company before, preferably from scratch. This includes building the marketing engine, playbook, and the team.
- You have deep experience with enterprise SaaS marketing (e.g ABM) with multiple stakeholders and high ACV deals — or can easily adapt to the enterprise space.
- You enjoy both strategic and tactical thinking.
- You are scrappy and can achieve maximum, industry-level results with limited resources.
- You enjoy writing and can adapt the tone based on the audience (Provosts, CIOs, students, etc.).
- You are data-driven and love running experiences.
- You deeply care about the brand and are excited to build a strong, modern identity for Stellic that works for both buyers (Provosts, VPs) and end-users (students, advisors).
- You want to be a part of a mission-driven culture and be a team player to serve that mission.
Why Join?
- Be part of the customer-centric team that's affecting the core issues in higher ed via expandable platform that's overwhelmingly loved by students and valued by administrators
- Opportunity to join on the base-level of a promising platform and build/lead a team critically responsible for the growth
- Work and learn from some of the most prominent thought leaders in higher ed and SaaS sales.
- Generous stock options in a Series A stage startup so you'll see financial outcomes multiply as we grow
- Flexible, outcome-based culture focused on company-wide OKRs
- Competitive salary
- Medical, dental, vision and life insurance for you and your family
- 401K and commuter benefits
- Annual international retreats in some of the most beautiful cities & towns
Compensation: $250,000 - $290,000 base salary, plus 0.3% - 0.6% equity
Some of the Things We've Heard:
- Student: "Having an interface that allows you to look at everything reaffirms the idea that all the work you’re putting in day-to-day, it is getting you somewhere. It is not all for naught."
- Advisor: "Just had the most AMAZING advising session...a student was changing majors and they built a new plan to show her parents within minutes. She was beaming (and so was I!)...this is incredible to use."
- Administrator: "Stellic has caused us to be more inspired about the work that we do. Having a platform that is agile, responsive, flexible and shows potential for moving forward - and a collaborative team approach - has been remarkable."
