User-interface, user-experience designer at Zitara Technologies, Inc.

We are Zitara Technologies, a YCombinator S20 company dedicated to a critical mission. To keep climate change to 1.5°C, we believe 30% of global GDP must run on batteries by 2035. We build predictive battery management software for large-scale deployments in satellites, electric vehicles, and renewable energy storage. Our team combines top physics researchers and engineers from companies like Tesla, Google, and Facebook to create safety-critical firmware and machine learning systems. We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to help shape the future of our web-based engineering suite, Zitara Studio.

What you'll be doing

• You will act as an individual contributor to design the interface and experience for new features within Zitara Studio, focusing on tools that allow customers to control complex technical software.
• You will develop a comprehensive design roadmap to ensure our product features are intuitive and effectively support our planned growth.
• You will work in close partnership with our frontend development team to ensure your designs are feasible, aligned with our technical practices, and implemented efficiently.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone with at least 4 years of experience in UI/UX design for web applications, including 2 years spent creating wireframes for engineering implementation. You should have a solid grasp of HTML and CSS to understand how your designs translate into code. Because our users deal with complex, large-scale systems, you should have experience designing for technical audiences, specifically regarding the visualization of large datasets, long-running workflows, and raw data access. You are comfortable making tradeoffs to balance high-quality design with the rapid pace of a startup, and you possess excellent communication skills in English. Familiarity with technical software tools, data visualization, and Material design is a significant plus.

What you'll get
