Trade Marketing Specialist at Mamamoney

Mama Money is a growth-stage fintech startup on a mission to help migrant workers in South Africa send money home. Role at a glance

We are looking for a Senior Trade Marketing Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site role based in South Africa. You will play a pivotal part in driving our in-channel and in-store execution to boost sales growth and brand visibility.

Your impact

• Lead and execute trade marketing initiatives by ensuring our brand is visible at small merchants, agent locations, and community partners.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with regional and area managers to identify new opportunities for brand placement and manage rental agreements for signage, murals, and billboards.
• Manage the trade marketing budget with a focus on efficiency and clear reporting, while collaborating with our design team to create materials that resonate with our customers.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of experience in trade marketing, retail marketing, or channel management, ideally within the fintech, telecoms, or FMCG sectors.
• Proven ability to work across informal trade channels and manage relationships with agents or distributors.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and the willingness to travel across South Africa, especially during the first 6 to 12 months of the role.
• Fluency in English.
• A deep understanding of POSM, merchandising, and community activations.
