Staff Product Designer at Deepgram

We are currently seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our team in a remote capacity, with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco.

Key outcomes

• Establish high standards for end-to-end design quality across complex, enterprise-grade surfaces, including AI observability and agent interfaces.
• Design for the full spectrum of our domain, including developer workflows, API and SDK experiences, and evaluator journeys.
• Create high-fidelity interaction designs and prototypes that serve as a benchmark for the entire team.
• Transform our design system into an AI-native framework that improves speed, quality, and coherence.
• Define research practices and insight architectures to ensure design decisions are grounded in evidence.
• Partner with cross-functional leadership to shape strategy and mentor designers to elevate our collective craft.

Requirements

• Exceptional expertise in UI design, interaction design, and prototyping.
• A proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that improve design operations.
• Deep experience in building and scaling design systems, with a clear perspective on the role of AI in production code.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect design work to measurable outcomes.
• Experience designing for technical users, specifically regarding APIs, SDKs, and console workflows.
• Strong potential for people leadership and the ability to influence through earned trust and operational thinking.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing for real-time, latency-sensitive, or multimodal experiences such as conversational AI or audio products.
• Comfort designing for probabilistic systems, including managing confidence levels and fallback states.
• A background in high-growth B2B companies that utilize both self-serve and enterprise motions.
• Familiarity with AI observability, usage analytics, or API management platforms.
• Experience leading large-scale design system migrations or governance.
